Anne was like an aunt to me. I first met her in 1995 when my wife worked with her in Bristol. Later, she came to my book signings in 2008 and 2009 and invited us to stay at the farm. I came up in 2010 and, before long, I was a regular visitor. Anne allowed me a place to stay, and we found a kinship in keeping late hours, loving late-night talk shows, newspapers, and all things Virginia. Two or three times, we all stayed at the farm - our family of four. I came up other times with the kids, or just to stay when passing through.
Anne was full of salt and sugar. She's missed by all of us, greatly.

I met Anne standing outside a nightclub in Bristol waiting to get in to see male strippers. We were fast friends from them forward. She was a wonderfully talented nurse who could out diagnose the Greens.

She was my "doctor" at the Salem VAMC. She was excellent at providing medical care and a caring person as well I visited her at her home after she "retired".
She will be missed - by me and by many more... especially her veterans.

I was saddened to read this about our friend! My husband, Luther Deel and I both went to school with Anne at Lord Botetourt High School. Some years later, when my hubby went to the VA for his medical care, Anne was his Nurse Practioner for several years until she retired. She took the best care of Luther and always had a keen sense of humor which we enjoyed. I am thankful that we will be with her again on Resurrection Morning and I am thankful for the privilege of knowing her and having her for one of our friends. Pat Deel

Sad to learn of Ann West's passing. My father always enjoyed her care so much whenever he had her at the VA. He really liked her & spoke fondly of her.
