Betty Anne West, 73, of Troutville, died May 1, 2017 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
Anne was born in Amelia County, Virginia December 19, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Akers M. and Elizabeth Richardson West. She moved to Botetourt County with her parents where they operated the West View Poultry Farm.
She graduated from Lord Botetourt High School, obtained a BSN from The Medical College of Virginia, and a MSN from UVA. She worked as an ANP with the Drs. Greens PC in Bristol, Tennessee. Anne was also retired from the Veterans Medical Center in Salem.
She leaves behind cousins: Jane Summitt of Daytona Beach, Florida, Sandy Tolle of Melbourne, Florida, Frank Richardson and family of Arizona, and Betty Lee Quinn of Jackson, Tennessee; special friends Florence Moore and family of Blountville, Tennessee, Hilda Tucker of Richmond, Virginia, June Damewood and family, Steve and Patsy Powell, Harriet Wallace and family, Lee and Jean Brydge, Dr. and Mrs. Bill Schermer, Aldersgate Church Family, Ed and Betty Wright; and many others who will miss her; a special thank you to Carrington Place, Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital doctors and nurses; Whitney and Stephanie in CCU; and all of her caregivers while at home, especially Ronny Wallace.
