Rosemary Mann Lafon, age 92 of Troutville, passed away Monday, February 18, 2019 at Springtree Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Rosemary was born June 10, 1926 in Covington and was the daughter of the late Oscar B. and Virginia L. Mays Mann. She lived in Troutville for 55 years.
Rosemary was a very devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, volunteered teaching refugees English, and enjoyed sewing and making crafts.
In addition to her parents, Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband James D. “Jim” Lafon; sons: James Robert “Bobby” Lafon, Ted Donald Lafon; and her brother, William “Bill” Mann; and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Rhonda and Terry Horne of Buchanan; ; daughter-in-law Debbie Lafon of Blue Ridge; grandchildren: Erica Dawn Reed and Joseph Clayton “Clay” Lafon; sisters: Hilda Cash of Chester, Virginia and Alice Mason of Gallatin, Tennessee.
The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice, Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital Cardiac Care Unit, Carilion Palliative Unit, Passionately Devoted Home Health Care (Anton and Maggie), Generation Solutions, Springtree Health and Rehabilitation Center and David Weiner, and at-home caregivers: Sonya and Danny Stiltner, Sherri Taylor, Cynthia Mullins, Deborah Bradley, Corey Gibson, Salle Wilson, Brenda Thomas, and Lynne Staley.
Committal services will be 2:00pm Sunday, February 24 at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 7271 Cloverdale Road, Roanoke with Andy Wilburn presiding.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Roanoke Valley SPCA, 1340 Baldwin Avenue, NE, Roanoke, Virginia 24012, or to Angels of Assisi, 415 Campbell Avenue, SW, Roanoke, Virginia 24016.
