Patricia Florence Bristol

Patricia Florence Bristol, age 96, of Daleville Virginia (formerly of New York) passed away peacefully Monday March 25, 2024, at Carrington Cottage Memory Care.

Patricia was born in Union City, New Jersey August 11, 1927, to the late Cyril Victor and Marion (Donovan) Farley. She was raised and grew up in Larchmont, New York before moving to Boston, Massachusetts to go to College at The Boston University Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences where she obtained her bachelor’s degree in education sciences. After Patricia got her bachelor’s degree, she moved back to Flushing Queens area of New York for a brief time before moving to New Rochelle, then to Pleasant Valley – just to name a few places in New York state Patricia had lived. Patsy was a Physical education and religious studies teacher for the Catholic school system in New York for many years. She has lived the last four years of her life in Daleville, Virginia where she was close to her son Pat.   

She enjoyed coaching the basketball team for the school each year, gardening both flowers and vegetables (she was known for her green thumb), but ultimately Patricia put her Catholic faith, family, and friends before everything else.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Robert Elliot Bristol and many beloved cousins who were more like siblings. Patricia is survived by her son and daughter – in – law: Patrick (Linda) Bristol of Natural Bridge, Virginia; daughters and son – in – law: Mary Ellen (Bill) Doyle of Red Hook, New York, and Kathleen Bristol and her partner (Jim Rudolph) of Moss Beach, California; grandchildren: Edward Bristol and Liam Doyle, and many great grandchildren and great - great grandchildren.   

Patricia’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Carrington Cottage Memory Care Center and Good Samaritan Hospice for all the special love and care that was provided to her and her family throughout her time with them.   

A service honoring Patricia’s life will be 11:00 AM Friday March 29, 2024, at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road Daleville, Virginia 24083 with Rev. Fr. Paul Lagco officiating. A private inurnment will take place at the family’s convenience.
