Mary Sybil Stevens Hundley

Mary Sybil Stevens Hundley, 83, of Fincastle, Virginia, went home to be with her Lord and
Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, May 15, 2023.

Sybil was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She was born in Roanoke and lived in Reston and Fincastle, Virginia. Sybil graduated from Bluefield College and Westhampton College. She taught elementary school in the Botetourt and Fairfax County Public Schools. Sybil was married to Billy Joe Hundley for 45 years until his passing away. She enjoyed quilting, singing in the choir at First Baptist Church of Roanoke, and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. George Dewey Stevens and Mary Willie
Noffsinger Stevens; her brothers, Joseph Daniel Stevens and George Dewey Stevens II; and
her husband, Billy Joe Hundley. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Todd Brandt of Aberdeen, NJ; and her granddaughters, Makenna, Zoe, and Sadie Brandt.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Friday, May 19 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road Daleville with her son-in-law, Pastor Todd Brandt and Pastor Wayne Gadman officiating. Burial will be at Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8pm Thursday.
