Mary Anne Boone

Mary Anne Boone, 88 of Daleville, passed from this life on Friday, May 4, of natural causes. She was a resident of The Glebe over the past nine years where her health had declined slowly over the years.

Mary Anne was born in Jackson Heights, New York August 21, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Frederick and Mary Looney Ziegler. A long-time resident of Purcellville, VA in Loudoun County and a 17 year resident of Hilton Head Island, SC, Mary Anne lived in Botetourt County the past nine years.

Mary Anne was always an active church member when health allowed and served on various guilds at both St. Peters Episcopal and St. Luke’s Episcopal churches in Purcellville and Hilton Head, respectively. While raising three boys Mary Anne also enjoyed gardening, bridge, and golf in her leisure time.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert J. Boone and daughter in law, Julia Isley Boone. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law David Boone of Snellville, GA, Todd Boone of Leesburg, VA, and Rich and Kathy Boone of Fincastle; as well as grandsons Austin and Mitchell Boone.

A memorial service honoring Mary Anne’s life will be 2:00 pm, Thursday May 10 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road, Daleville. There will be no visitation.
