John Barry "Bo" Lemons

John Barry “Bo” Lemons, 71, of Roanoke passed away at Roanoke Memorial Hospital on February 16, 2024. Born in Galax, VA on May 1st, 1952, he lived a life filled with passion, love, loyalty and service to others. To his coworkers, he was known as Hawkeye but to the rest of us, he was the best husband, father, grandfather, Brother Uncle, Cousin, Father-in-law and brother in law anyone could ask for.

A native of Virginia he was the husband of 48 years to Sandra Bland Lemons (Sandy) who survives and the son of Robert Lee “Bob” Lemons and Ada Williams Lemons, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James Donald Lemons; and his nephew, Craig Mathew Walker. Bo was a proud employee of United Parcel Service for nearly 26 years and a member of the esteemed Hundred Million Mile Club. He was also a member of the Covington Moose Lodge #610.

In addition to his wife those left to cherish his memory are his son, Christopher Lemons and wife Mandy; four grandchildren, Kemileigh Lemons, Jett Lemons, Alexis West, and Madison West; seven siblings, James Larry Lemons, Robert Wade “Red” Lemons, Charles Frank Lemons, Terry Lee “Chub” Lemons, James Ray “G” Lemons, Patricia Ann Walker, and Tony Darrell Lemons; a special brother and sister in law, Larry and Mary Bland and their daughter Nickie; many nieces and nephews; and life long friends and support, Alice and Lynn Horton and his Godson Mckinley Horton.

The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm. A memorial service will follow in the chapel of Rader Funeral Home at 2:00 pm with Jim Dalton officiating. Following the memorial service a reception will be held.
