Joanne B. Harrison, 84, formerly of Cloverdale, died Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Friendship Health and Rehab Center following a long illness.
Joanne was born in Cloverdale February 17, 1934 and lived in the Roanoke area most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Floyd L. and Ida E. Burnette Branscome.
Joanne was an executive secretary for Medical Facilities of America and retired in 1999. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and cooking.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Harrison; two brothers and one sister. She is survived by her son Robert L. Cooper, Jr. of Roanoke; daughters and son-in-law Debra Clingempeel and Stacy and Paul Stump all of Roanoke; grandchildren: Jennifer Juby, Patricia Clingempeel, Elizabeth Gibson, and Eric Stump; great-grandchildren: Carolynn Seymour, Kaitlynn Seymour, Sara Juby, and Kaylea Juby; nephew David Branscome; nieces: Lee Ann Simmons and Betty Jo Griffin.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 14 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road with Ben Peyton officiating. Burial will be at Daleville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday beginning at 12:00 noon until the time of the service.
Joanne’s family suggests memorial contributions be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 3959 Electric Road, Roanoke, Virginia 24018.
