Janet Flinchum Peery

Janet Flinchum Peery, age 79 of Troutville, passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2022.

Janet was born in Roanoke November 12, 1942 and lived in Botetourt all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Ezra L. and Ruby Jones Flinchum.

Janet was a 1961 graduate of Lord Botetourt High School, was a member of First Baptist Church of Troutville, and a dairy farmer. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, and watching westerns and mysteries.

Janet is survived by her husband of 60 years, Gilbert Thomas Peery; children: G. Thomas (Ann) Peery, Michael Wayne (Kerrie) Peery, and Donna Gayle Warren; five grandchildren: Clay, Landon, Sarah, Zane, and Sam; sister, Doris (Fred) Showalter; and a niece, Rachel Wattenberger.

A celebration of Janet’s life will be 2:00 pm Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road Daleville with Ben Peyton officiating. A private burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends will be received at the funeral home two hours prior to the service Saturday.
