James Robert “Bobby” Lafon, 68, of Roanoke County died Sunday, March 25, 2018 following a long illness.
Bobby was born in Giles County and lived most of his life in the Roanoke Valley. He was employed for many years by Ingersoll Rand and ITT. Bobby was a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was an avid coin collector and happily devoted to his wife of 47 years, the late Jolene “Jo” Shorter Lafon.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father James D. Lafon and a brother, Ted Lafon. He is survived by his mother Rosemary Mann Lafon of Buchanan; sister and brother-in-law Rhonda J. and Terry Horne of Buchanan; sister-in-law Debbie Lafon of Blue Ridge; niece Erica Reed and nephew Clay Lafon.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
