Flora "Flo" Lorene Ayers

Flora “Flo” Lorene Ayers, age 96 of Fincastle, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, July 10, 2019.

Flo was born in Eagle Rock August 25, 1922 and lived most of her life in Botetourt County. She was the daughter of the late Oather and Bertie Hickman Johnson.

Flo worked for Brown Paper Company, retiring after 25 years of service. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and caregiver who enjoyed working in her yard and gardening.

In addition to her parents, Flo was preceded in death by her husband George William Ayers; her son, Dennis G. Ayers; and numerous brothers and sisters. She is survived by her daughters: Helen J. Norman of Fincastle and Brenda G. Davis of Portage, Michigan; grandchildren: Tammy Vincent of Michigan, Johnny (Tammy) McCormack of Fincastle, and Lisa Davis of Portage, Michigan; great-grandchildren: Kristie McCormack, Morgan (David) Garza, Lauren Brion, Alyssa Brion, and Logan Brion, Camden Davis-Root, Tiffany, and Jon-Jon; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Flo’s life will be 12:00 Noon, Saturday July 13 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road Daleville with Pastor Ben Peyton officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Buchanan. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
