Ernest L. Noel

Ernest L. Noel, age 94 of Botetourt County, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at Lewis Gale Medical Center.

Ernest was born in Eagle Rock May 31, 1927 and lived in Botetourt County all of his life. He was the son of the late Thurman F. and Beulah G. Teaford Noel.

Ernest served in The United States Army during and following World War II. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Clifton Forge and enjoyed woodworking.

In addition to his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Audrey E. Barger Noel; brothers: Frank and Robert; and sister Betty Graves. He is survived by his daughters: Barbara Noel of Fincastle and Brenda Noel (David Hunt) of Ferrum; granddaughters: Jennifer (Kenny) Martin and Jessica (Rodney) Palmer; great-grandchildren: KJ Martin and Carlissa Martin: and one sister, Anna Damerel of Richmond.

A celebration of Ernest’s life will be 11:00 am Saturday, April 9 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road Daleville with Pastor Bill Dillon officiating. Burial will be at Forest Grove Cemetery. His family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service Saturday.
