Bessie Martin Price

Bessie Martin Price, age 80 of Botetourt, died Monday, December 17, 2018 at Carrington Place following a period of declining heath.

Bessie was born in Fincastle May 6, 1938 and was the daughter of the late Bud B. and Bessie M. Hylton Martin and grew up in Botetourt County.

Bessie was a secretary and bookkeeper for many years and was a member of Daleville Church of the Brethren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William E. Price and is survived by her daughter, Jessica Martin; son and daughter-in-law Kenneth and Megan Price, son and his partner Bruce Price and Keith Lawrence; granddaughter, Abigail Martin; her long-time companion James “Jim” Driver; Jim’s children: Scott (Mary) Driver, Chris (Krystal) Driver; Jim’s grandchildren: Brandon, James, Cameron, Jenna, Gabriel, Hannah, Cadence, Bella, and Brooks; brother and sister-in-law Danny and Monica Dooley; sisters and brother-in-law Elaine and Jim Hiner, Frances McCune, and Iris Dacal-Teijeiro; numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Bessie’s life will be 2:00pm Friday December 21 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road Daleville with Rev. Tom Powers officiating. Burial will be at Pleasant Dale Memorial Park. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service beginning at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home Friday.
