Agia Joan Moses, age 90 of Roanoke, passed away Friday, May 10, 2019 at her home following a long illness.
Agia was born in Aintoura El-Maten, Lebanon November 2, 1928 and lived in Roanoke most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Abdo and Nora Azar.
Agia was a member of St. Elias Maronite Catholic Church and was a loving dedicated mother who loved God and had a devotion to the Virgin Mary.
In addition to her parents, Agia was preceded in death by her husbands: Charles P. Moses and Elmer R. St. Clair; brothers: Toufik Azar, Rashid Azar, and Yousef Azar; and her sister Metil Azar. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Veronica and Elias Azar of Glendale, Arizona, Maria and Vahik Mirzayan of Roanoke, and Angeline and John Powell of Salem; grandchildren: Julian “Richie” Azar, Nadia Azar, Andre Mirzayan, Alexandria Mirzayan, Alicia Marand, and Alexander Powell; great-grandchildren: Ariana Mirzayan and Juliet Mirzayan; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Friday May 17 at St. Elias Maronite Catholic Church, 4730 Cove Road Roanoke with Rev. Fr. Kevin Beaton, SFO presiding. Burial will be at St. Andrew Diocesan Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Elias Maronite Catholic Church, 4730 Cove Road, Roanoke, Virginia 24017.
