My deepest sympathy to you Thelma and your entire family... This is 3 years late and I am just being made aware of this event. You and Graham met with my then wife Jill and me at the K & W in Roanoke. You also met with my daughter where Graham and she would engage in a chess battle! She still talks about that day.... He will always have a place in my heart for standing by my side and supporting me through a horrific life event that I faced back in 2012-2104. I soon became a 24-7 caretaker for my mom in 2015-2018 and sadly lost contact with Graham. I had always wanted my mom to meet him. Now they have had that opportunity... Love always, Steve

I am so sorry to hear of Graham's passing and my condolences goes out to his family. I will remember him in many ways, but especially the time I broke my arm and he tended to my injury in the emergency room. Even after I moved away we would talk about that night each time I was back home and attended Troutville Church of the Brethren where I first met him.

Please accept my deepest sympathy over the loss of Dr. Stephens. I did not meet him until about 6 years ago when he would bring his cat Newton to the clinic where I work - Newton would always be perched on his shoulders. Dr. Stephens always had a funny story or two to share - he was quite the character. He was a very special man and I feel lucky to have met him.

Please accept our condolences in memory of Dr. Stephens. He was always so kind to us when we transported patients to Roanoke Memorial from Buchanan. Buchanan Rescue Squad will never forget how thoughtful he was to all rescue squad members. He made you feel that you were an important factor in the care of patients. We will keep your family in our prayers.

Graham was a wonderful inspiration and mentor for me. He took me under his wing and taught me a lot when I was starting out in Emergency Medicine. He was always caring and thoughtful in decisions regarding his patients and our practice. I will always cherish his fine tuned sense of humor and timing.

Graham was one of those individuals that could always make your day. His service to Scouting made a difference in the lives of countless numbers of Scouts and Scouters on a local and national level. His leadership will be missed. Thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Thelma , Graham, and all family members, we are saddened by the loss of a long-term friend but have our faith and memories just as you do to remind us of the funny and fond memories of the past. Lucas and I worked with Grammy at RMH for years and Lucas worked with Graham in Lebanon when he was at that Hospital. What all of you have done for others is such a gift and we will pray that this sudden loss and pain soon fades as your friends, family and the Scouting family gather to recognize this Doctor, Friend and Fellow Scouter! KNOW THAT WE PRAY FOR ALL OF YOU andCare! I worked with Grammy as a nurse in the ED for years! RIP FRiend!
