Mike was my best friend from first grade through our time as roommates during our five years at West Virginia University. We stuck together through thick and thin. My many memories of those times could fill a book and it would be a fun book to read.

He was a kind, gentle and humble person who still stood up, with great courage, for the ideals instilled in him by his parents, family and mentors. He was a great student, classmate, Eagle Scout, teammate, citizen, engineer, son, father, husband and a man of faith. He was a man who commanded respect.

I was my honor to have him as a friend.
