William Walter Wingo, III “Will” of Troutville, VA, 77, died on June 20, 2017 after a long illness. He was the son of the late William Walter Wingo, Jr. and Dorothy Van Dyke Wingo of Cedar Bluff, VA.
He is preceded in death by two sisters, Dottie Lee Wingo and Darla Wingo Barrow. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Wanda Carver “Wendy” Wingo, brothers-in-law Larry Carver and wife Charlotte of Vinton, VA and Jack Barrow of Abingdon, VA, two sisters-in-law Pamlia Ickes Haywood (Roger) and Kokie Hays Richardson (Bill) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Will graduated from Richlands High School and attended King College and Virginia Tech. He attended Bonsack Baptist Church where he was a member of “The Seekers” Class. He served in the Army National Guard and was a retired member of the Local Union 70, I.B.E.W.
The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home, Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 6-8 PM. Services will be conducted at 10 AM Friday, June 23, 2017 at Bonsack Baptist Church, 4845 Cloverdale Rd., with Dr. Chris Cadenhead officiating. Interment will follow at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens.
