Ms Violet June Keatley Long

Violet June Long better known as June, died peacefully on March 11, 2017 at her home after a short illness. She was born June 27, 1923 in Bozoo, WV to Viola and Syrus Keatley, one of fifteen children. She was a strong-willed country woman who worked hard and was respected by all who knew her. She continued working well into her eighties caring for “old people”.

All her acquaintances, realized she never met a doctor she liked or trusted. She cured all illnesses with vinegar, turpentine, vicks rub, salt water, buttermilk and olive oil. Until the last six weeks of her life, she took only one medicine.

She was a faithful member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church for over sixty-five years where she served as a deaconess.

She is survived by her children Katina Johnson (Bill) of Goodview, Jimmie Long (Debra) of Boise, ID, Marsha Fagg (Bob) of Fincastle; grandchildren, Ericca Roulain (Cole) of Austin, TX, Cameron Miles (Melissa) of Salem; sisters: Jean Hart, Clara Smith, Shirley Felix, Betty Keatley and brother, Lewis Keatley all of CA and many nieces and nephews.
