MSgt Timothy Shawn Kinman, USAF Ret, age 52 of Troutville, passed away suddenly Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital as a result of an acute cardiac event.
Timothy was born July 28, 1966 in Barberton, Ohio and lived there until joining the US Air Force in 1986 and retired to the mountains of Virginia after 24 years of dedicated service. After his retirement from the Air Force, Timothy worked as a Veteran Service Representative for the Veterans Administration at the Poff Federal Building in Roanoke.
Tim was a member of Lord Botetourt VFW Post #1841 of Troutville and Ridge Rifle. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, kayaking, and was an NRA supporter.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, Kerry L. Kinman; grandparents Newman and Mary Adair. He is survived by his wife Angela M. Lilly Kinman; his children Trevor Kinman and Lily Kinman, both of Troutville; his mother and step-father Susan and Robert Antoniotti; brothers: Theodore Kinman, Thomas Kinman, and Christopher Knotts all of Eugene, Oregon; and many dear relatives, friends, and US Servicemen and Servicewomen.
A celebration of Timothy’s life with full military honors will be 11:00 am Tuesday, January 15 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road Daleville with Ben Peyton officiating. A private inurnment will be at Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin. Tim’s family will receive friends at the funeral home 2-4 & 6-8 pm Monday.
