Roy Allen MacCormack

Roy Allen MacCormack, age 86 of Buchanan passed away Friday January 8, 2020 at Brookdale Roanoke.

Roy was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut October 20, 1935 to the late Donald and Jen Shepard MacCormack. Roy served in the United States Marine Corps, received his bachelor degree from the University of Bridgeport, and was the Secretary and Treasurer of Intricate Metal Forming, the business he ran along with his two sons. Roy had a real passion for playing bagpipes and was a member of Virginia Highlander Pipes and Drums. He enjoyed working on taking care of his home and property, and spending time with his family. Roy was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.

In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his brother Donald MacCormack. He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth “Penny” Palmer MacCormack, sons and daughters-in-law; Scot (Luci) MacCormack of Daleville, and Greg (Apple) MacCormack of Dongchang, China; his daughter Penny Elizabeth MacCormack of Hudson, New York; 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, a celebration of Roy’s life will be announced later.
