Rose Zella Bryan

Rose Zella Halsey Bryan, 86 of Roanoke, entered her heavenly home September 13, 2018.

Rose Zella was born in Piney Creek, North Carolina May 25, 1932 to Ray and Vennie Halsey and lived in the Roanoke area for many years.

Rose Zella loved the Lord and served Him faithfully for many years at Grace and Truth Baptist Church, singing in a trio with Buddy and Pastor Naff. She was a kind, spirited lady, and she will be greatly missed. The family would like to express thanks to the staff at Friendship Health and Rehab who assisted in her care over the years.

In addition to her parents, Rose Zella was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Carl “Buddy” Bryan; her only son, Barry Bryan; siblings: Jay, Robert, Lizie Lee, Artie, and Henry. She is survived by her brother, Bert Halsey; sisters-in-law Claudine Halsey, Peggy Halsey, Eleanor Sink, and Faye Hickock; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Services honoring Rose Zella’s life will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 18 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road, Daleville with her nephew, Elder Bobby Crawford officiating. Burial will be at Troutville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm.
