Maria “Mia” Pascuzzo, age 55 of Botetourt, formerly of Long Island, New York passed away Monday, July 8, 2019 following a long illness.
Mia was born in Mineola, New York June 11, 1964 and lived in the Botetourt area the past 17 years. She was the daughter of the late Joseph L. and Lillian G. Kruger Lackner.
Mia worked for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for nearly 20 years. She had an incredible love for cats and would take in and care for strays. Mia had a love for fashion and had a particular fondness for her sneakers; she was a huge fan of the Boston Red Sox, and enjoyed the local minor league affiliate, the Salem Red Sox.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Louis A. Pascuzzo; brothers: Joseph Lackner of Hempstead, New York, Jimmy Lackner of Medford, New York, and Billy Lackner of Marlboro, New York; her sister and brother-in-law, Linda and David Donovan of Garden City, New York; three nephews and one great-niece.
A funeral liturgy celebrating Mia’s life will be 7:00 pm, Thursday July 11 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road Daleville with Rev. Fr. Stephen McNally officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 1-3 and 5-7 pm Thursday.
