Lillian Bertha Lynch

Lillian Bertha Lynch, age 87 of Montvale – formerly of Goodview passed away after a brief a bout with cancer at her home on February 27, 2020.

Bertha was born February 2, 1933 to the late Elliott Fuqua and Orpha Denison McGeorge. She lived all of her life in Bedford county and recently moved to Montvale.

Bertha was a kind hearted person and she never met a stranger. She always welcomed everyone with a warm smile. She was a sweet, gentle, and loving soul who had a deep respect and love for nature, including all of God’s critters. Bertha loved her family; especially her grandchildren who were all very special to her. She enjoyed traveling, going to the Blueridge parkway, and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents Bertha was preceded in death by her husband: of 24 years Willie Lynch; sister: Sarah Margaret Carroll; brother and sister-in-law: Edgar (Pat) McGeorge; and granddaughter: Crystal Smith. She is survived by her son; Robert Ernest McGeorge of Roanoke; daughters: Delois Jean Hegarty of Montvale; DeeDee Ayers Hensley of Roanoke; grandchildren: Donald Wayne Rawling Jr., Jimmy Lee Rawling, Tiffany Rene McGeorge, Scott Brandon Lynch, and Thurman E. Ayers; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sister: Vivian Roach of Florida; and special friends and long time neighbors Kent and Dianna Funk of Goodview.    

A committal service will be 12:00 noon Friday March 6, 2020 at Woods Creasy Family Cemetery, in Goodview.
