A devoted servant of Jesus Christ whose heart was devoted to her family and medical missions, Judith Allen Echols, age 78 of Troutville, died Monday, February 18, 2019 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital following a long illness.
Judith was born in Cincinnati, Ohio November 6, 1940 and lived in Phoenix, Arizona prior to moving to Troutville a year and half ago. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Fincastle, St. Mark’s Medical Mission to Honduras, was an avid reader, and enjoyed hiking and travel.
Judith is survived by her husband of fourteen years, Charles L. Echols, Jr.; sons and daughters-in-law Thomas and Rosemary Miner of Greenwich, Rhode Island, Fred and Lilly Miner of Phoenix, Arizona, and James and Stephanie Miner of Minnestrista, Minnesota; nine grandchildren; and her brother and sister-in-law Edward and Marianne Wilber of Kaiserslautern, Germany.
A memorial service honoring Judy’s life will be 2:00pm, Saturday February 23 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 111 South Roanoke Street Fincastle with Rev. Fr. Willis Logan officiating. Burial will be at Glasgow Cemetery in Glasgow, Virginia.
