John J. Anderson

John J. Anderson, 59 of Daleville, died Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

John was born May 3, 1959 in Alexandria, Virginia and was the son of the late Elmer J. and Sophie J. Jakiel Anderson. He lived in the Botetourt area for the last ten years.

John worked for Verizon for 21 years and had been a fleet manager. He enjoyed yard work and tinkering around the house.

John is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Andrew and Vanessa Dowdy of Annandale, Virginia; daughters Amanda Anderson of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Cassidy Anderson of Fairfax, Virginia; grandchildren: Josiah, Isabella, and Carter; former wife and mother of his children, Marie Anderson of Vinton; sister and brother-in-law Ann and Bill Greulich of Modesto, California; numerous loving nieces and nephews.

John’s family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road, Daleville 2-4pm Saturday, September 1.
