James Lewis Armentrout Jr., age 75 of Fincastle, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at his home.
Jimmy was born on March 26, 1944 in Fincastle to the late Gladys and James Lewis Armentrout Sr. He lived in Botetourt county all of his life and worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad until he retired after 30+ years of service.
Jimmy was a life-long member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church (White Church) and was a volunteer for Fincastle Fire Department. He enjoyed farming beef cattle, tinkering with stuff around the farm, and most importantly Jimmy loved spending time with his family; especially his grandkids.
Jimmy is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Tony (Romy) Armentrout of Norfolk; grandchildren Zachary and Mollie Armentrout of Norfolk; and his beloved fur-baby Gypsy the dog.
A Celebration of Jimmy’s life will be 1:00 pm Saturday, November 30 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 2357 Mt. Pleasant Church Road, Fincastle with Pastor Rodney Longmire officiating. The Family will receive friends Friday, November 29, from 6 – 8 pm at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road Daleville. The burial will be immediately following the service on Saturday at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Eagle Rock.
