Helene B. Castellane

Helene B. Castellane, age 85 of Botetourt, passed away Friday, June 21, 2019.

Helene was born in Woonsocket, Rhode Island August 17, 1933 and lived in Botetourt County for more than 40 years. She was the daughter of the late Oliva and Simonne Coutu Blanchard.

Helene was a founding member of Church of the Transfiguration in Fincastle. She was very devoted to her children and grandchildren, and was a career tax preparer for over 40 years.

In addition to her parents, Helene was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Raymond J. Castellane and her son, George Castellane. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Mark and Jennifer Castellane of Browns Mills, New Jersey and Domenic and Deborah Castellane of Botetourt; grandsons: Andrew and Shane; brother, Roger Blanchard of Maryland; sisters and brother-in-law, Sylvia Duncan of Pennsylvania, Yvonne Manuel of South Carolina, and Beatrice and Terry Smith of Roanoke.

The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road Daleville, Monday June 24 1-3 pm with the service immediately following with Reverend Father Stephen McNally officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday June 25 at Fairfax Memorial Park in Fairfax, Virginia.
