Hazel Marie Moran Dinkel, age 90 of Montvale, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Hazel was born in Troutville March 16, 1929 and lived in Bedford County most of her life, the last 21 years in Montvale. She was the daughter of the late Troy David and Kathleen Mattie Gibson Moran. Hazel worked for Halmode Apparel for 23 years and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She enjoyed her involvement and outings with LOA, traveling to Tennessee, family gatherings, and her church.
In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin L. Dinkel in 1997; a grandson, James Dooley; an infant grandson, and former husband Emmett Harrison Dooley. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law Danny Harrison and Rita Dooley of Montvale, Dennis Dooley (Judy Dooley) and Gene Alan Dooley all of Roanoke; daughters and sons-in-law Shirl and David Wood of Troutville, Pam Roatenberry (Ed Baker) of Troutville, Rosemary and Rayburn Barger of Roanoke, Patricia Williams of Roanoke, Kay Dooley of Thaxton, and Deborah Dooley of Roanoke; 36 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters Joyce Moon of Vinton, Brenda Dudley of Blue Ridge, and Linda Fisher of Bedford County; sister-in-law Evie Moran of Troutville; sister-in-law and special friend Reva Orange Wheat; and her fur baby Max.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, December 19 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road Daleville with Pastor Bill Mitchell officiating. Burial will be at Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. Hazel’s family will receive friends at the funeral h0me
