Gayle Lynn Parr Dillon

Gayle Lynn Parr Dillon, age 69 of Troutville, passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at Skyline Nursing and Rehabilitation Center of Floyd.

Gayle was born December 16, 1951 in Clifton Forge and was the daughter of the late Fenton Walter Parr and Nancy Armstrong Parr. She grew up on Craigs Creek in Botetourt County on her parents’ farm located at Mulberry Bottom. The family then moved to Herndon, Virginia where she graduated from Herndon High School in 1970. The family moved back to the Botetourt/Roanoke area in the early 70’s where Gayle lived out her life.

In addition to her parents, Gayle was preceded in death by her husband, Mark C. Dillon; as well as her brother Fenton Curtis Parr. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Clifton Rice of Troutville; her son, John Parr of Roanoke; as well as her grandson, Brandon (Charisma) Logan of Peru, Indiana; great-granddaughters, Amy and Aria Logan; siblings: James Parr (Shirley) of Richmond, Patricia Hammond of Roanoke, Rachel Hippert of Salem, Joan McCray of Fredericksburg, Thomas Parr(Linda) of Stuarts Draft, Martha Barnes (Andrew) of Sandston, and a special sister, Phyllis Parr of Roanoke; as well as a host of nieces and nephews including a very special niece, Janet Parr.

A Zoom service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, November 27.
