Frances Louise Poland Perkins, age 96 of Roanoke went home to be the Lord and her family Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at Lewis Gale Medical Center following a brief illness.
Frances was born February 16, 1926 in Strasburg, Virginia and lived in the Roanoke Valley for fifty years. She was the daughter of the late Edgar William and Hannah Peters Poland.
Frances was a homemaker and was a true caregiver and always willing to help someone in need. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Roanoke.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Elisha Lee Perkins. She is survived by her sons: Bill Perkins of Blacksburg and Wayne (Terri) Perkins of Catawba; daughters: Kay Lee of Udall, Kansas and Debby Perkins of Riegelsville, Pennsylvania; daughter-in-law Charity Perkins of Charlotte, North Carolina; grandchildren: Jessica Perkins, Travis (Shannon) Volz, Seth Perkins, and Will Perkins; great-grandchildren; Lane and Harlee; and one sister, Nadean Sorenson of St. Paul, Minnesota.
Private services will be conducted with burial at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
