Ernest Wade Huffman Jr.

Ernest Wade Huffman, Jr., age 67 of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2020.

Ernest was born in Clifton Forge July 14, 1953 and was the son of the late Ernest Wade and Betty Anne Wilhelm Huffman. He has lived in the Botetourt and Roanoke area all of his life.

Ernest retired as a produce manager and was employed with Winn Dixie and Food Lion. He enjoyed playing softball when he was younger and enjoyed bowling. Ernest was a member of Green Ridge Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Billy Moore and is survived by his wife of twenty-two years, Betty Jean Quesenberry Huffman; children: Wade (LeeAnn) Huffman of Vinton, Anitra (Kevin) James of Boones Mill, Brittany Huffman of Roanoke, Susan (Tom) Young of Salem, Lee (Sue) Joyner of Washington, DC, and Mary Duff of Roanoke; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brothers and sister: Jerry Huffman and Douglas (Patty) Huffman all of Roanoke, Michael (Terri) Huffman, and Lisa Moore all of Daleville; and his beloved dog, Roxie.

A celebration of Ernest’s life will be 11:00 AM Saturday October 31 at Rader Funeral Home 630 Roanoke Road Daleville with Pastor Greg Moser and Pastor Kevin James officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 2-4 and 6-8 pm Friday.
