Emma Cary Clark

Emma Cary Johnson Clark, age 99, formerly of Botetourt County, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Miss Cary was born in Botetourt County April 30, 1919 and lived in the area all of her life. She was the daughter of the late William T. and Willanna Wallace Johnson.

Miss Cary was a member of First Baptist Church of Amsterdam and loved reading the Bible and the newspaper, and enjoyed flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Garland R. Clark, five brothers, and one sister. Miss Cary is survived by her sons: Milton Clark and Calvin Clark both of Roanoke; daughter and son-in-law Eleanor and Jack Lewis of Roanoke; five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Linda Clark of Botetourt County; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A Homegoing Service will be 2:00pm Tuesday, November 6 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road Daleville. Burial will be at First Baptist Church of Amsterdam Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00pm Tuesday.
