Dewie Edward Weddle

May 3, 1934 ~ June 18, 2018 (age 84)

Dewie Edward Weddle was called home by the Lord on Monday, June 18, 2018.

He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather & great-grandfather, and a friend to everyone he met. His smile, “Dewie jokes”, and hugs will be missed by us all. Dewie served in the Air Force, retired from CorEast Savings Bank, and coached many young athletes. He was an active member of the Troutville Church of the Brethren where he taught Sunday school and served on various committees. He had a love for sports, gardening, and people.

He is preceded in death by his parents Howard & Irene Weddle; brothers Larry, Sam, John, & Jim; daughter Kim Bradshaw; and granddaughter Megan Weddle. He leaves behind the love of his life and wife of 63 years Kathryn; sons Steve (Page) & Randy (Missy); grandchildren Chris (Anna) Weddle, Abby (Piyum) Khatibi, Elaine (Stacy) Tanaka, Gina Astringer, Leanne Bradshaw, Josh & Joselyn Weddle; great-grandchildren Holly & Macy Weddle, Gabriel & Gage Keaton, and Rylan & Dylan Khatibi; brothers Lloyd & Ralph (Eva); sisters Alice St. Clair, Annie Zupfer, & Linda (Elmer) Clemons; and numerous wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins,& friends.

Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Saturday June 23 at Troutville Church of the Brethren, 5133 Lee Highway, Troutville. A graveside service with military honors to follow at Troutville Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, June 22 from 5-8 p.m. at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road, Daleville.
