Danny Wayne Hardy, age 65, of Roanoke County, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Lewis Gale Medical Center following a long illness.
Danny was born in Franklin County May 6, 1958 and lived in the area all of his life. He was the son of the late Johnson R. and Maggie L. Sloan Hardy Holland. Danny was a receiving supervisor for Grand Home Furnishing warehouse and most recently, worked in the produce department at the Vinton and Hollins Kroger. He attended Valley Word Ministries and enjoyed fishing, the New York Yankees, the Chicago Bears, and UVA Cavaliers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. Danny is survived by his wife of 43 years, Mary Gregory Hardy; son, Greg (Leslie) Capito of Roanoke; daughter, Tammy (Rick) Lauzon of Glenvar; grandchildren: Zach Lauzon, Allison Lauzon, Haley Capito, Christy Lauzon, and Jenna Capito; brother, Ricky (Leona) Hardy of Toronto, Ohio; sisters: Earline (Eldridge) Altice, Lois Carr, Lilly (James) Craighead all of Calloway, Joyce Underwood of Roanoke; and special niece, Sissy (JC) Roberts of Bedford; numerous nieces and nephews; and his “partner-in-crime,” Snoop-Dog.

A celebration of Danny’s life will be 2:00 pm Saturday, September 16 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road Daleville with his brother-in-law, Pastor Gerald Hollamon officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm.
