Carolyn Ray Johnson

Carolyn Ray Johnson, 68, of Roanoke, went to heaven Friday, June 1, 2018.

Carolyn was born in Roanoke and lived in the area most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Eugene R. and Mamie (Irene) Meador Ferguson. Carolyn was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church (White Church) and enjoyed caring for children.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Roger L. Johnson, Sr.; sons and daughters-in-law Lee and Lynn Johnson of Vinton, Keith Johnson of Roanoke, and Scott and Trish Johnson of Salem; daughter and son-in-law Caren and Robert (Robbie) Bailey of Roanoke; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Connie Ferguson of Roanoke County; sisters Linda Armetta of Roanoke and Tanya Ferguson of Fincastle; many nieces and nephews.

A service honoring Carolyn’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 6 at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church (white Church), 2357 Mt. Pleasant Church Road, Fincastle, with Rev. Travis Cassell officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery (White Church). The family will receive friends Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road, Daleville Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM.
