Betty Eagle Williams, 76, of Daleville entered the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Thursday, February 22, 2018.
She was born August 5, 1941 in Beard, West Virginia the daughter of Hercle Kenton Eagle and Mary Maude Price Eagle. She graduated from Greenbrier High School in Ronceverte, West Virginia and was a homemaker, and worked part-time for the US Postal Service in Giles County for a short period of time.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Nancy Eagle Owens. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Douglas A. Williams, Sr.; daughter Tania Lynne Williams of Hutchenhausen, Germany; son Douglas A. Williams, Jr. and his wife Dorcas of Covington, Virginia; three grandchildren: Andy Williams and his wife Maria Jose’ of Colombia, South America, Becky Appell and her husband Ethan of Albany, New York, Sarah Taylor and her husband Stephen of Blacksburg; one great-grandchild, Kinsley Anne Appell; step-mother, Dorothy Eagle of Terre Haute, Indiana; sisters Linda Holt and Joyce Scott of Terre Haute, Indiana; brothers Robert Eagle and David Eagle both also of Terre Haute. Betty was a long-time member of Botetourt Community Church and she loved her church family.
A celebration of Betty’s life will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, February 28 at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road, Daleville with her pastor Reverend Ed Bailey officiating. Burial will be at Godwin Cemetery. Her family will receive friends Tuesday 6-8pm.
Betty’s family suggests that memorial contributions be made in lieu of flowers to The Gideons International Processing Center, P.O. Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090-7251.
