Thelma P. Taylor

Thelma Taylor, 99 of Roanoke, Va passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 28, 2024.  She was proceeded in death by her one true love Orville (O.A) Taylor and her children Thomas Taylor, Ken Taylor and Patricia Taylor. 

Thelma retired from Eli Lilly after many years of service as an accountant.  Thelma liked to stay busy and loved children, so she became a school car driver for Botetourt County Public Schools.   She absolutely adored the many children that crossed her path and was quick to share the memories of those times over the years.

Thelma loved the Lord, her family, and the many pets she had over the years, especially her pups Winnie Poo and Little girl, which proved to be a faithful companions to her.  In her spare time, she loved reading her bible, going to the beach and growing beautiful flowers in her many gardens. Thelma was a true adventurer and loved to travel including trips to Egypt and Israel.  Her and OA traveled the United States always looking for another adventure and places to see.  

Left to cherish her memory is her son Ron Taylor (Cheryl); granddaughters, Laurie Taylor, Lynsey Bishop; step grandchildren, Amber McMahan (Brian) and Nick Jones; great grandchildren, Ashley, Trey, Leah, Laurel and Clara; numerous other friends and family including her daughter-in-law Alice Mae Taylor and her daughter Karen Vaden.

A graveside service will be held in Mill Creek Cemetery in Fincastle on Monday, April 1, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Pastor James (JC) Finley officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mill Creek Baptist Church Childrens Ministry, 11475 Lee Hwy, Fincastle, Va 24090 in memory of Thelma and Orville Taylor.

The family of Thelma would like to thank the many compassionate and caring people that took great care of her while she resided at Friendship Manor, Roanoke, Va.
