Born December 3rd, 1932 of Daleville passed away on Wednesday March 8th, 2017
He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Charlotte Yates Ramsey. Parents
Stanley and Pauline Ramsey, Sister Nelda Vaughn, Brothers Dennis and Phillip Ramsey.
He owned and operated Olympic Skate Center for 19 years and Ramsey Advertising
Specialists for 50 years. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1952. His first job was a becoming a caddy at Roanoke Country Club where his love of golf started and
Later carried him to be a member of the Board for Blue Hills Golf Course. He was always of service to the community by coaching and refereeing numerous recreational
Sports. He was the past President of of the Daleville Lions Clubs 24 year member, Treasurer for the Brotherhood Railway Clerks 13 ½ years, Partnered 13 years with Valley Bingo, played roller Hockey for 25 year, Recreational Study 6 years. He was also a beloved member of St. Marks United Methodist Church.
He retired from N&W Railroad after 38 years, his love of trains carried over after his retirement. Left to cherish and share in his memory his two sons Ray W. Ramsey II and his girlfriend Diana Clark and Jason W. Ramsey and his girlfriend Dena J. Hartman. His
Beloved granddaughter Autumn R. Slusher and husband Spencer, grandsons Michael and Chris Warfe, brother Paul Ramsey (Stella) and sister Celia R. Bryant. Sister in law Jahquita Ramsey. Numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 16, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM, at Rader Funeral Home, 630 Roanoke Road, Daleville. A celebration of Ray’s life will be conducted at 11 AM, Friday March 17, 2017 with Reverend Rob Lough officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Burial Park.
