Joseph Larry "Joe" Henderson

Joseph Larry “Joe” Henderson, age 82 of Roanoke County, passed away Monday, October 3, 2022 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

Joe was born in Letcher County, Kentucky March 14, 1946 and was the son of the late Elywin and Becky Henderson. He lived in Daleville for a number of years before recently relocating to Roanoke County.

Joe worked for Hughes Aviation for many years, loved to cook and cook for everybody, and was very proud that he recently became a born again Christian. Joe enjoyed music, especially early classic rock.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Erin L. Osborne Henderson in 2021; and his sister, Lucy Majora. Joe is survived by his daughters: Christina (Ron) Calcagno of McMinnville, Oregon, and Deborah Duton of Oliver Springs, Tennessee; grandchildren: Michael Curry, John Plummer, Eli Plummer, Connor Calcagno, Luke Emmett, Alissa Oldham, Alexandria Oldham, Chloe Henderson, and Priscilla Dutton; sisters: Stella Fay Adams, Denise Banks, and Gloria Jean.

Private services will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
