James "Ed" Collins

James “Ed” Collins, 93, of Botetourt, died Friday, March 24, 2017.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Josephine Collins; children, James Edward Carter (Margo), Butch Carter (Diana), Mike Collins (Debbie), Frank Collins, Brenda Fowler (Thomas) and Frances Lynn Hunter; brother, Ira Collins (Mildred); sister, Juanita Smith (Burton); grandchildren, Laurey Carter (deceased), Tara Carter, Jason Carter, Penny Moore, Greg Fowler and Shonda Bourne our angel and David Fowler; great-grandchildren, Samantha Carter, Trinity Moore and Lauren Moore; great-great-grandchildren, Dillon Moore, Jake Moore, Mason Moore and Paisley Moore; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

The family would like to thank the 6 West and ICU nurses and staff at Lewis Gale Hospital for all the care and support.

A memorial service celebrating Ed’s life will be conducted at 6:00 PM, Monday, March 27, 2017 at Mill Creek Baptist Church, 11475 Lee Hwy, Fincastle, VA 24090 with Pastor J.R. Graybill.
