Gary Fischer

Gary Price Fischer, age 71, of Troutville (formerly of Chadds Ford Township, Pennsylvania) passed away at his home early Thursday, March 28, 2024, after a courageous 3-year battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease).

Gary was born May 31, 1952, in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Mildred Marjorie (Miller) and Charles Albert Fischer. He grew up and lived in Chadds Ford Township, Pennsylvania until going in to the US Army to serve his country. Gary has lived in Troutville, Virginia since 2011 after losing his first wife.

Gary was a very talented Carpenter and many of his furniture creations will continue to serve generations to come.   Gary also drove a truck for CVS pharmacy. 

After Gary had settled into life in Troutville; he and his current wife: Kimberlyn “Kim” Fischer – started a business together called G & K Fischer Originals – Remodeling and Flipping Homes. He enjoyed watching baseball and football specifically, Philadelphia Phillies and The Philadelphia Eagles. Gary loved to go camping and traveling with his family whenever they had the chance.

In addition to his parents Gary is preceded in death by an infant brother: Richard Owen Fischer, and his first wife: Charlotte Carey Fischer (2011).

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 12 years: Kimberlyn “Kim” Fischer. Gary leaves behind his son and daughter,  Jeremy Fischer of Lake Tahoe CA and Sarah Fischer Zaler (husband Mike and son Ian) of York PA.  Also a sister Linda Fischer Champion (Ben) of Brownsville TX.

Gary also leaves behind his bonus (step)children from his second marriage, several of which were blessed by Gary’s parenting influence from their early teen and pre-teen years . Mary- Elizabeth Rose,  Elijah Rose,  and Nathanael Rose,  (all still living in the home) .  Jason Rose,  Christopher Rose,  Madison Rose,  Jon-Jon Rose,  Nicholas Rose, Matthew Rose, Jonathan Rose,  Logan Rose,  Lucas Rose , Michael Rose,  Brandilyn Rose, and many bonus grandchildren whom he adored.

The family will receive friends at Rader Funeral Home in Daleville from 4:00 until 6:00 pm on Monday, April 1, 2024.
