Alma Moore

Alma N. Moore, age 89, a resident of Botetourt County, departed this life June 20, 2017. She was born January 15, 1928 in Rose Hill, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents Hayward and Leota Nolan, her husband of over 50 years Howery Moore and sister Thelma Crosthwaite. She is survived by her two sons Jay Moore and his wife Shelly Moore and Dr. Jeff Moore and his wife Anne Moore, granddaughter Danielle Blevins, nephew Bill Crosthwaite and niece Sharon Stark and their respective families. She was also survived by Dave and Marion Rogers, her long time neighbors and steadfast friends.
Alma was a graduate of Radford College and taught english in the Roanoke City schools for many years. She was a devoted wife and mother and a kind and generous friend to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.
A grave side service will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 10:00 AM in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens.
